The columns explained
Reading Form (typically 0.0 – 1.0)
It blends how often you win sets (40%), your game margin per set (40%), and your games won per set (20%) — then adjusts for how many sets you've played (more = more reliable). It is not the same as Win %: winning narrowly scores lower than winning convincingly. Rough guide:
Why Form, not just Win %?
Win % treats a narrow 7–6 set the same as a crushing 6–0, and ignores who you played. Form rewards convincing performances and accounts for opponent strength — a fairer picture of how someone is actually playing. For doubles, Form shows how a partnership performs as a team.

Designed for All Sorts of Combined pairings
Open Padel Ratings (OPR) is an independent, transparent rating system designed for club padel — singles and doubles alike. Built on the proven OPR engine, OPR rates every player and every pairing on their own merits, for the realities of club padel where partners change, formats vary, and match volume is limited.
OPR is open by design. Every formula, every weighting, and every adjustment threshold is explainable to any player, administrator, or partner. There are no black boxes.
Every match updates your rating automatically. The system considers not just whether you won, but how convincingly you won — set margins, game differentials, and how surprising the result was given the teams' ratings.
Bigger upsets earn more points. Dominant victories earn more than narrow wins. Playing more matches builds confidence in your rating over time.
OPR handles any combination — two men, two women, mixed gender, or any All Sorts configuration. Mixed and All Sorts pairs use a weighted rating that gives more weight to the stronger partner, reflecting their greater influence on the match.
Your Level is simply your rating divided by 200. It gives you a simple number to communicate your standard without needing to explain raw rating points. Level 5 is entry, Level 9 is elite.

OPR Version 2.0 — June 2026
Built with passion for the game of padel.
Individuals are the ingredients pairs are built from. Editing a seed rating re-derives any pairs they belong to on the next recompute.
Paste rows of Name, Gender, Rating — one per line. Tabs (straight from Excel) or commas. Gender = M or F. Rating optional — blank defaults to 1500 (M) / 1300 (F). No PIN needed — members enter scores by picking their name.
Set every man's or lady's starting rating to one value and recompute the whole club. Handy when a club's first ratings need a clean restart. Each player's number can still be fine-tuned individually afterwards.
Change the club name shown on the front page (e.g. “OPR Gen 1” → “OPR Worcester”). Requires the master PIN.
A pair comes into being the first time its two players enter a match together — named as entered, rated at the live 60/40 of the two members. There is nothing to register here.
Each pair is one rated entity. "Move" = current − initial (since inception).
Tick each division this tournament runs. Only ticked divisions appear in stats and entry. Set an optional cap for each (leave blank for no cap).
A handicap event balances every match by rating (the system tells each pair their head start). Results are recorded for the tournament only — they do NOT affect anyone's rating. Great for mixed-ability fun days.
Fix a wrong score or event type, or delete a match. Ratings recompute automatically after a change.
